Melody Joanne Centeno, LMSW, is an extraordinary individual who excels in multiple roles. She is not only a motivational speaker, public advocate, and psychodrama practitioner but also an ABA therapist, talk show host, actress, film director, film editor, and producer. Her dedication to helping others inspired her to graduate from Adelphi University's School of Social Work, earning recognition as a NYS Licensed Master Social Worker by the State Association of Social Work Boards. Melody imparts her knowledge as an Adjunct Professor at Adelphi University's Field Education department, guiding both undergraduate and graduate social work students. Additionally, she leverages her SiFi certification to mentor students at New York University. Having experienced foster care herself, Melody established Foster Care Unplugged in 2016 to enhance the lives of children in care by fostering positive resiliency skills. Her personal journey motivates her to share her story globally, empowering youth and educating professionals on the significance of cultural responsiveness in child welfare. Melody's leadership style is distinguished by her ability to teach through personal experience combined with professional expertise, making her an invaluable asset to Foster Care Unplugged and the families they support.
