Devon Smith

Devon Smith, a Director, Writer, and Editor, is a Jamaican-born filmmaker currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. Although he has no direct ties to the American foster care system, he is familiar with the concept of kinship care, having experienced it before moving to the United States to reunite with his mother. His mother, a woman of strong family values, had traveled to the U.S. for several years to create a better life for him and his sisters. As the CEO of Deus Beni Productions, Devon is committed to maintaining a connection with the Foster Care Community. This commitment includes supporting the launch of Foster Care Unplugged. Deus Beni Productions is recognized for offering internships and casting opportunities to foster youth interested in the entertainment industry. The company proudly launched its first cohort as 'Deus Beni Academy,' a leadership program, and is honored to have the youth from the Administration for Children's Services as their first graduating class.
