In Memory of our Mentee Thiasia Ashley Williams (Latte). Who was unalived by a stray bullet on Martin Luther King drive in the community of Hempstead, NY.  Shortly after her passing, a protest was organized by Foster Care Unplugged, that took place in the area where the murder took place. The community canvased the area to shed awareness and in hopes that they would encourage the community to extend any information related to the incident to the local authorities. This case remains unsolved. Latte was mentored by Founder Melody Centeno, who was supporting her in starting her own non-profit as a doula just before she passed away. She heavily invested in being an amazing Mother to her young son Noel and donating clothing to the youth of Foster Care Unplugged.
